Summersville Lake Retreat & Lighthouse offers fully equipped West Virginia Cabins, incredible camping, from primitive to full service, a variety of clean, well kept rental watercraft to choose from, and Summersville Lake Lighthouse Tours that overlook the cliffs of West Virginia's largest lake and the Gauley River National Recreation Area.
Because with us, trademark hospitality is more than just a tag line...it's a way of life. From the gatekeeper who greets you upon your arrival, to the housekeepers and groundskeepers who help us put our best foot forward during your stay, this is what we do here in West Virginia.
When you are here as our guest, you can take comfort knowing that we live and play here too, and take pride in our local knowledge of the region. Whether it's the latest information on one of the many State Parks that are literally at our doorstop or bet on the best fishing hole or climbing spot just down the trail from us, you'll feel as though you've found an old friend to guide you around during your stay.
CORONA VIRUS UPDATE Per Governor Executive Order
Closed April 1st to 30th, 2020
To All of our Valued Guests,
Due to the increasing effect that the coronavirus pandemic is having on our entire country, on March 31, 2020, the Governor of West Virginia ordered all state and private campgrounds to cease operations through April 30, 2020. We at the Summersville Lake Retreat & Lighthouse recognize the need for such measures and fully support all actions that must be taken at the local, state and federal levels to prevent the spread of COVID 19 throughout our community. Thus, we strongly encourage all would be travelers to heed the recommendation to shelter in place during this period.
Here at the Retreat, we believe that it is in challenging times like these that the power of hospitality is needed most of all. We realize that many travel plans are being disrupted, along with, in some cases...entire lives. We ask for your patience, understanding and quite frankly and most importantly, your participation in practicing physical distancing so that we can get ahead of this. Moving forward, all existing reservations affected during this crisis will be given the opportunity to reschedule their stay without any penalties or fees incurred when all of our lives return to normal, as we are all in this together.
We also, sincerely believe that when the eventual relaxing of the current travel restrictions take place, getting away from it all here at the Retreat will take on a whole new appeal. The layout of our campsites and cabins and of course Summersville Lake itself allows for the natural "physical distancing" nature of a retreat as you pursue your individual interests. Whether it be hiking, biking or just reconnect with nature to reinvigorate the soul.
Stay safe and healthy and we hope to see you soon here at the Summersville Lake Retreat & Lighthouse...where incredible scenery & warm hospitality meet!
