Policy Addendum For Cabins And Rental Units

Cabins have a maximum occupancy permitted. Our luxury chalet cabins, RV have a 6 person max occupancy with the exception of cabins 4 and 5 which have a max occupancy of 8 persons. Our tiny cabins, farmhouse and barn cabins, and vintage RV rentals have 4 person max occupancies. Visitors and unregistered guests are not permitted to stay overnight.

The luxury chalet cabins have fireplaces that are powered by gas, please refer to lighting instructions or contact housekeeping for assistance. Do not place anything in the fireplace and do not move the log configuration.

Housekeeping services are not provided during your stay unless requested at time of reservation. If additional housekeeping services are needed please contact the office. We will automatically provide a mid-week linen change on weekly rentals. Do not remove towels or linens from the rental units. There is no need to strip beds or perform other cleaning tasks – housekeeping will take care of everything.

Hot tubs should be entered at your own risk. The water quality of our hot tubs is routinely checked and treated with chemicals such as chlorine to aid in filtration. A shower must be taken before and after entering a hot tub per guidelines of the WV Health Department. Please make sure the cover is on the hot tub before going to bed or leaving the property. If you are staying for an extended time housekeeping will perform a routine check on the water quality of the hot tub for your continued enjoyment and safety. We are not responsible for any damages of personal items placed or worn in the hot tub. If you are unfamiliar with hot tub operation please refer to the instructions provided next to your hot tub or call the office for assistance.

Two dogs are allowed per cabin. Friendly Dogs are permitted at the Retreat and inside the cabins. Aggressive, uncontrolled, or constantly barking dogs are not permitted. No cats or other animals are allowed other than service animals. We ask that your pet be housebroken and well-mannered. If your dog is a barker, we ask that you keep it calm, or inside as much as possible. If your dog is wet, we asked that you do your best to dry them before letting them inside. If your pet is the shedding kind, please keep them off the beds and furniture. Dogs may not be tied up outside the cabins or chained in the yard or on the porch. If your dog is going to be left alone, please notify us so we know they are there in case of an emergency. We do have extra crates and supplies – if you need to borrow something just ask at the office. Please understand the additional $25.00 nightly fee is necessary due to the extra cleaning and maintenance involved. Owners will be asked to remove aggressive, uncontrolled, or constantly barking dogs from the property. You authorize your credit card on file to be charged for excessive cleaning required as a result of your dogs. You agree to hold harmless Summersville Lake Retreat and its employees for any damage your pet(s) cause to other guests or their property. You agree that Summersville Lake Retreat and its employees have no responsibility for the safety or care of your pet(s). You agree to terminate your stay without refund should your pet(s) become aggressive or be deemed a nuisance to other guests.

Absolutely No Smoking, Vaping, Tobacco Use, Candles, etc. inside the cabins or rental units. A cleaning fee of $200.00 will be charged to the credit card on file if there is evidence of smoking or use of candles inside a cabin or rental unit. We will know and we will charge you. Do not tamper with smoke detectors.

We do not allow for late checkouts due to the time to prepare the cabins for our next guest. Guests not vacating the unit by 11:00am will be charged for an additional night. Our onsite housekeeping staff will take of all the linens, dishes, and cleaning for you, no need for you to do anything. If something has broke or been damaged please let us know so our next guests are not inconvenienced. All linens and towels are counted, please do not take them with you. DO NOT move or remove any furnishings, accessories or other items from your cabin for any reason.
